J'ai perdu ma fille â Je l'ai perdue. Le COD lâ ici fĂ©minin singulier, est placĂ© avant ai perdu. I lost my daughter â I lost my daughter â I lost her.
Voici la cĂ©lĂ©britĂ© quâelle a rencontrĂ©e. Le COD quâ - la cĂ©lĂ©britĂ©, fĂ©minin singulier - est placĂ© avant a rencontrĂ©. Here is the celebrity that she met. ('the celebrity' is a direct object)
Elle a fait tomber la bouteille. â Elle l'a fait tomber. She dropped the bottle â She dropped it.
Ils ont fini la bouteille â Ils l'ont finie. Lâ est COD. They finished the bottle â They finished it. (Lâ is a direct object)
J'ai vu six films hier. Ils Ă©taient trĂšs bien. â Les six films que j'ai vus hier Ă©taient trĂšs bien. Que est COD. I saw six films yesterday. The were very good. â The six films I saw yesterday were very good. (Que is a direct object)
J'ai parlĂ© Ă mes frĂšres et sĆurs â Je leur ai parlĂ©. Leur est COI, pas d'accord. I spoke to my brothers and sisters. â I spoke to them. (Leur is an indirect object, so no agreement).
